AcureOmics signs research agreement with Gottfries Clinic

AcureOmics AB and Gottfries Clinic AB have signed a research agreement which is effective immediately. The companies will contribute with their respective expertise to a joint research project on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and Fibromyalgia (FM). The outcome of the projects will benefit both companies.

- There is a great need of research in the area of FM and CFS, says Olof Zachrisson, head physician at Gottfries Clinic. This project may lead to better understanding of pathogenic factors in these two common disorders. At present the cause of FM and CFS are unknown and there is no specific treatment to offer the patients.

- This is a very exciting research project and to my knowledge the first metabolomics study in this field, comments Jon Gabrielsson, CEO AcureOmics.

About Gottfries Clinic

Gottfries Clinic AB is an outpatient unit for care of patients with CFS and FM. The unit has three doctors, all M.D. Ph.D. and around 1500 consultations are made each year. Apart from the care of patients the unit is also focused on research on CFS and FM. About 10 scientific articles have been presented and the unit holds a user patent on treatment of CFS and FM.
