AcureOmics cofounder Johan Trygg wins prestigious 5th Elsevier Chemometrics Award

Dr Johan Trygg is the first Swedish scientist to receive the Elsevier Chemometrics Award which is given to "a chemometrician, younger than 40 years of age, who has contributed significantly to the development of chemometrics in the last 5 years". The Elsevier Chemometrics Award was established to stimulate the careers of young scientists by recognising noteworthy accomplishments in the field. The winner is selected by a committee based mainly on one or more outstanding scientific papers, but other contributions to the field of chemometrics may also be considered.

-I'm very pleased to receive this award. It is the most coveted prize to be awarded younger researchers in chemometrics and is a strong indicator of our leading position and high quality research, says Johan Trygg, university lecturer at Umeå University and chairman of AcureOmics.

Dr Trygg, chosen as the winner by a selected committee of leading international scientists in the field of chemometrics, will receive US$ 2000 and a framed certificate at a ceremony during the CAC2008 conference in Montpellier, France, later this summer.
